have had my old analog multimeter for 50 years, it's bulky & hard to use with my one good hand,
had some electrical issues to sort out so checked out some digitals.
read the reviiews & got this one from Screwfix.

VERY pleased with it.

or you could get it from Amazon for £17.....bit of a no brainer.

engine battery now charging from solar when leisure is full.

can't make out if it tests continuity ,which i'd consider vital
my Clarke tester was a bit more but also tests up to 10amp which is handy for finding leakages

Looks like it automatically ranges up to 2Meg and does 10A d.c.

I think Toolstation put it on special offer every now and again for around £7, when I got one, the test leads are a bit short and there are no clips, but at that money its cheap

I bought one from Screwfix last year when my old one packed up - actually I left the battery in it and didn't touch it for over a year 😲
It does do continuity.

If you add a decent set of test leads it becomes an expensive "cheap" meter

Bought one last week swapped the lead’s with my old one, good enough for me.

Well, I bought the Screwfix meter and it does all you’d expect apart from a buzzer on the continuity settings. Here’s the info on the box.

As Del says it just lacks a decent set of leads if only for a bit of length.

trouble is ,i use the continuity function a lot
checking wires for breaks
earths are good
fuses and light bulbs are sound
working out how particular switches need to be wired
etc
i once had to sort out the electrics in a Portuguese house. all the cables were run in conduit ,and they were ALL black . without the continuity i'd have shot myself

I would rather have the old type but did buy 2 digi ones of ebay for 4 bucks each,do the job.

Just been reduced to £7.49 so I'm going to have one to leave in the van.

Cheers
