European breakdown for older vans

Dear all,

Our van is now over 15 years old and our current breakdown cover will no longer be valid for Europe in the New Year. Can anyone recommend a company that will cover older vehicles in Europe please as it seems there is not much choice? One option will to insure the van with a company that also includes appropriate breakdown so we are also open to suggestions in that line as well.

Its a bit frustrating as the van has been extremely reliable in our ownership and we certainly don't want to sell.

Can't help with a company but that's the reason why we got rid of our last van, I did a few searches but could not find a decent quote and repatriation was one of the biggest issues.

Have you tried Comfort or try AIB as they are a broker and should have someone who do it.

We have the Nationwide flex account which covers breakdowns, and a friend just checkedmit out for his older van. It seemed to be covered, so worth having a look.

When safeguard refused to offer Breakdown for ours when it reached 20 years I went to AIB. No problem there.

If you are a member of the CCC you get access to the RAC Arrival Insurance. Possibly a tad expensive but still worth checking out

Ours is 19yrs old I used C&CC brokerage to insure it and made EU breakdown a stipulation. It's also 5plus tonne.

I think you mean Nationwide Flexplus, up to 8 metres and 7.5 tonne and no age limit
