Just to remind you lucky folk who travel throughout Europe what’s coming our way later this year.
We will need an ETIAS, it will cost €7 and be valid for three years.

End of this year I think Been put back to November. Im thinking of just nicking one of those thousands of rubber boats now stored at Dover as I cant be arsed with all this red tape. Nobody will be expecting anyone going the other way eh? Cunning plan or what?

I’m just wondering which overpriced tech company has developed the system.

That’s not the clearest description I’ve ever read on how something is supposed to work either.

You would assume it will work the same as US ESTA . But yes the clunky , cumbersome description rings wee alarm bells

As an 'elder traveller' mine will be free :):)

"The fees are applicable to adults between the ages of 18 and 70. Minors and elder travellers (aged 70+) will not have to pay any fees. "

Better to go to the horse's mouth rather than a privately-run website.

I wonder if there'll be a separate immigration line for ETIAS holders at airports at least, and might it be a bit quicker than being lumped in with everyone who is non EU.

I would very much doubt it.
The US have been running a similar visa waiver scheme ESTA for years now.
When arriving in the US you only have two choices US citizens and non US citizens.

Will every non EU person not require the ETIAS ?

Only those from qualifying countries can obtain an ETIAS. If not those from outside qualifying countries will require a Visa.
It will last for 3 years and costs 7 euros, but free if under 18 or 70 and over.

Seems this has been delayed again.
