Depends whether the oil filler is positioned on the rocker cover and if it’s at the front of the rocker cover.
If it is then I suppose you could see the chain.

I have learnt something, every vehicle I have had has had engine oil filler on the ‘rocker cover’, I didn’t realise there were other layouts. Was wondering why nobody else had said look in the filler as that’s always worked for me. Saying that I haven’t looked at new car and not sure if I ever looked in previous one.
