Many thanks

Hi and thanks for reply, I'm waiting on my mechanic to give me the engine numbers so I can search for a wider choice of replacement, as soon as I know I will post here
kind regards

Hi im not 100% sure but i believe the early Renault Master had a variation of the 2.5litre Fiat engine if that is so you could widen your search. Hope this helps all the best. Helmit

Hi,
Thanks for the link, I'll look into that one, not that I live near Manchester but needs must!! I'm in high wycombe area. Think this one is listed as a 3.5litre! Mine is a 2.5 but I'll investigate as I'm desperate

Vl Barlow sadly didn't have any that old!! I need a 1989 G plate 2.5litre straight diesel, it's like searching for rocking horse manure! Lol

Your engine is known as a SOFIM engine (named after the factory its built in). They were used in Fiats, Ivecos & Renaults.

And there aren't any left in the country. We needed one for my dad's 1992 Ducato MH and have spent months looking. Only option is to find a complete running van, or try Ebay France/Italy etc..

We've had a 2.8 Iveco engine fitted now (collect it next week) by a company in Derby. They've used the original gearbox and other ancillaries. Only the flywheels has had some work done. But it has cost £2000 including the engine. But the van interior suits my parents perfectly so they've splashed out.
