Electrolux fridge keeps defrosting.

Any ideas why this keeps happening? If I turn it off and restart it, it's OK for a day or two, then it happens again

While we were in France 2 weeks ago the temperature got to 39degrees and our Fridge stopped working, so I removed top and bottom grills to let the hot air dissapate, this seemed to work. I'm thinking of fitting a 12volt fan in the top grill to help remove the heat if it happens again

On gas?

If so, I'd suggest the flame is going out. Relighting it will of course cause it to chill again.

You need to check the flame next time it happens. The flue and burner area may well need a clean out. Lots of tips on other threads on how to do this for an Electrolux fridge.

No,it's defrosting with the flame lit.

I'm wondering whether the main jet is blocking intermittently, but the fuse also seems to have gone for both 12 volt and mains.
