Over the years my nearside mirrors have taken a beating mainly on hedges and tree branches, about a year ago it got knocked forwards and has never since locked into place. It is the full electric model, heated, folding, adjustment and indicators. Does anyone have experience on how they come apart? It is also preferable to know how they go back together. 
I assume there is some kind of indent as to where it should stop. I would like to have a go at fixing it rather than replacement. I'm sure that someone on here would know. Any links would be appreciated. Thanks.
