Is it true that the batteries used in electric cars are reusable? I heard that they are made from recyclable material?

Normally all batteries are recycable, at least the lead plates. But if this is done is an other matter !

you are correct but disposing of the acid is the problem you can no longer pour it down the nearest drain some one has to recycle it i assume

Totaly irrelevant.

I would think most people with any understanding of the enviroment will be aware that an electric car will have caused more enviromental damage before it's even turned a wheel than a Yank V8 gas guzler would in its 25yr life span including manufacture and disposal.

How do you work that one out?,when that atnk will use enough metal and components to manufacture about 20 cars, has to have another vehicle manufactured to transport it in a civilian theatre, that is of no other use. uses fuel ata rate of 8 gallons per mile, that fuel having to be transported to the theatre of war by a ship and then a tanker truck.. should it not get blown up rendering it an-recyclable, it will probably be unrecyclable due to toxic contaminents

I often wonder how when electricity is generated by coal, oil, gas, nuclear means is it better to use electricity to fuel vehicles?

What utter TRIPE

For your information mine (V6 not V8 I admit) gets used every day, returns mid 20's to the gallon and I fail to see why it should ever want another vehicle manufactured to transport it. I also can't see the relevance of shipping it to a theatre of war and why it would be any more toxic at the end of its life than any other car, certainly considerably less than the highly toxic waste created in the desposal of the batteries used in an electric car

I do suggest that if you do wish to attack a post, at the very least you should actually read it first, and then make comments that are actually relevant.

Hiya Geoff, I think Rick may have mistaken your word "yank" for "tank" (as in challenger),and for what it,s worth ,I have never seen him attack a post in any way rather than constructively and with a bit of humour:rolleyes:.

Must admit , I was a little confused at reading his post;)
