If I put the van on hook up when not in it how long will it take to get a decent charge on the battery? Dealer I saw recently said 2 weeks. Is that true? Found it hard to believe. TIA

Hi Ya,
I really does depend on The Type & Output of your Battery Charger, The Size, Condition & Charged state of your Battery.
Need a bit more to go on me thinks.

Something like a EBL99 has a charging rate of 16amp, it should only take hours to charge up most.

yes 24 hours or less. Mine has amperage gauge so when it goes to 0 A charging it is full. Just bought 2 new banner batteries, 110A. They now take about 6-8 hours to charge if they were low. They start off at 10A but soon drop off to around 4A then steady down to OA.

I had a completely flat starter battery, Fiat Ducato own brand, which gave the starter a quiet polite 'cough' when I turned the ignition key in an attempt to start the MH.

I put it on charge with my 8amp trusty charger and the battery was up to full charge well within 24 hours.

What was the name of the Dealer? – m'thinks one to avoid if that's the scope of his advice.

Here's one I did earlier .....

. 336 hours nay more like 36. Perhaps they were using phone charger.

Controller issue

Not sure if it is relevant, but some friends have just had their solar panel and leisure batteries looked at. Batteries failing after 18 months intermittent use as never been fully charged, due to the controller. They have had the solar panel and controller replaced in the Algarve and are watching to see if batteries revive.
