I thought it may be interesting to people that today I ordered ee 4g unlimited, and was surprised to find out that the price had come down to £22 a month. So i have ordered one and replacing this with my current broadband. It was a little lower as i was already a BT customer. I did call last month and was quoted £55 a month so i didnt bother
The SIM is unlimited and has top speed of 100Mbps - so in theory is a really good deal I think. The none BT customer price i believe is £28
I have already ordered a router and antaenna that I had seen recommended here last month
Hope this willl be interesting to some

As far as i am aware you`ll need the Roam Abroad Pass at £10 per month with a fair usage policy of 50GB as well,

Scroll down.

At £22, that's about the going rate, and has been for a year or more. I wonder how they came up with a price of £55.

If you look at 1pmobile or rwg mobile they offer data at full speed (more than 100mbps) for less than £22 per month but it isn't unlimited. Do you really need unlimited? The 1pmobile deal includes 5G, but that's no faster than 4G on EE at present.

If you want unlimited data (and calls and texts) on EE, Utility Warehouse charge £20 for the first, but you can add extra SIM cards for about £10 per month each. I'm not a fan of their business model, but that's a good price

Wish it would work here as I would dump my BT Broadband and landline and our Vodafone contracts and just get that EE deal. Virtually no signal here on EE.

If you want to use it in Europe there is a maximum cap of 50gb, and for a total of 60 Days before it must return to Blighty.

Smarty (3 network) is £20 for unlimited calls, texts and data (including 5G if within coverage and you have a 5G device). If you have another Smarty SIM for another device, you then get a 10% discount on each, bringing your unlimited data down to £18/month. For EU roaming, I would suggest other options; the Smarty package can be reduced or paused on a monthly basis.

Thought popit was the answer for me in Europe. 100gb .
Applied and paid 8 days ago . Offski in 6 days , still no SIM

I use Smarty £7.20 for 12gb as my standard sim. My wife has the same deal with a different monthly renewal date and I have another Smarty sim in my dual sim phone. It gets activated when we go abroad and paused when not required. This gives us potentially 36 gb per month which is sufficient for our requirements. We don’t stream apart from some Skype calls to Australia. I have not had any issues with signal in western France and northern Spain plus N. Portugal.
So eu roaming costs us perhaps £7.20 over normal costs if I activate the spare sim.

Added advantage although not planned, there has been no price increase in the 5 or 6 years we have been with Smarty.

Did you receive an email acknowledging your order (same day) and another, perhaps a couple of working days later, advising that it was complete? I received my Popit SIM within a couple of working days of the second email. I would suggest contacting Popit to express concern.

I’ve changed to Popit 100gb for £25 per month because they have a roam the same as home policy. Nearly all the other providers charge or restrict roaming abroad. Used to be 3 and Giffgaff.

I got my Popit sim in 3 days, worked straight away in my router.

Phone them, you should have received it. I ordered over a weekend and it was Tuesday or Wednesday that I got it.

I guess you've tried this I had a similar set up with giffgaf and when I tried to use it in France they shut it off saying I'd not used it enough at home to qualify for roaming.

That was a proviso that EE told me when I discussed their sim , you needed an average of the previous 4 months usage to qualify abroad.

Tried phoning sent round the houses . Live chat today no answer after 20 minutes . Emailed 4 times .
Willing to accept delivery may be Royal Mail problem but popit not great at resolving problems

I get the impression that there are very few staff, I tried to join but had to give up because the EE signal was hopeless. During the process I often got the same staff member and the chat line was down on numerous occasions. The staff were very helpful in fairness.

I`m with Tesco mobile ( O2 ) and joined before the 16th June 2022 cut off date for free roaming so mine will continue.

There`s a 25GB roaming cap however the speeds i got in France last year were off the scale with 5G even in very very remote areas of the Pyrenees

We have a 4G EE SIM at home and we get charged £27 a month so I'll bear this in mind come contract renewal time.

Re Europe. On our SIM I can gift data so I give each of our EE mobiles 50Gb each month when we are away and then hotspot off our phones to access the data on the laptop if there is anything we want to watch live (sport) or surf the net, emails etc.

As our EE PAYG SIM only mobile deals with EE are quite old we don't get charged roaming either. The home router can be used throughout the UK too when we are in the MH so in effect for 27 quid a month we get unlimited data at home and abroad.
