Dutch Ovens, Double Skillets, Chicken & Pizza

We have a pressure cooker (best kitchen gadget), slow cooker and remoska. Can cook anything and everything .... except pizza! Which I don’t eat anyway!!!

I am a big fan of the remoska, just not for pizzas. It does wicked jacket spuds but sadly not allowed them nowdays . cored spuds filled with garlic butter and a home made burger ....my weekly fakeaway:wacko:

Bread is cooked in a Dutch oven

So why not Pizza.

Buy you have to have a real fire and put hot coals on the lid !
I guess you could use a blowtorch (kitchen variety)
Or a Cadac BBQ with the cadac lid on as well

Maybe it would work on the gas hob.. get it hot
put pizza in put hot lid back on and turn the gas lowish so as not to burn the pizza base.

We often use our dutch oven on the hob but mainly for casserole/stew type concoctions.
Once it and the contents are hot you can turn the gas to very low and thinks will cook and even turn the gas off for the last 15mins or so
Our alternative to an electric slow cooker or pressure cooker or Remoska

Maybe a Ridge Monkey would do pizzas well (after all they are just Italian toasted sandwiches ?!:wacko::danger:

we use the small cadac safari chef to cook pizza with a pizza stone from an electric pizza maker (same size as the cadac option)
use the lid for oven effect good results but need to watch the heat or end up with crispy base usually after e few beers

We've done pizza and just about everything else in our Ridge Monkey, the downside for pizza is the size but if they fit in then they're cooked perfect. We don't have an oven or grill in our van and therefore the Ridge Monkey has been a very useful cooking utensil.

Which is better Remoska or Halogen oven? They both have the elements in the lid.

Halogen ovens are much bigger and heavier. The heat stays at the top. I used to use one but found it difficult to get the temperature correct and would often burn the top of food. Never use it now - in the attic.
Although the element is in the lid with the remoska, the heat transfers to the metal bowl so it heats all the way round. A much more even cook and nice crispy edges with things like lasagna. Much smaller and only one temperature.
No comparison in performance. Both use low power. The Remoska is much more expensive. Think I only paid £30 some years ago for the halogen oven, but £150 from Lakeland for the Remoska.

This seems to tick all the boxes

Kampa Freedom Gas Cartridge Oven: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

A gas cartridge oven that can be (intelligently) used inside a van - so if you can afford the space (47 x 32.5 x 32.5cm) and the weight 10Kg, for £120 you can wild camp and have oven ready meals in front of the telly.

If you follow the link there is a very in-depth review from a user.
