Ive seen quite a few (mainly foreign) motorhomes overnight parking on the road infront of the Radisson hotel.

Also, the rowing club has a small campsite, but on the road that leads to it there are again free parking spaces that I would imagine you wont have any problem overnighting in, including the small 'carpark' at the Durham city cricket club less than 100m from the rowing club.

Unless it's changed I think the rowing club campsite is a caravan club one.

The top end of the cricket club has lots of notices saying it's a private carpark, I'm not sure how far down towards the bend they consider to be theirs but the dog walkers park at that end.
