Looking through my photos this morning found these shots taken from the C&MC site in Dunbar. We used to wc there until the East Lothian gestapo put double yellow lines in, and regularly sent a traffic warden to enforce them. They also dumped tons of soil creating a mound to prevent us from parking just outside whitesands car park, which off course has barriers. So now we park in the leisure centre car park in the town centre for a night then head for two nights in the campsite grass only £18 a night. It’s actually one of the better sites with its views over the Firth of Forth where you can see the famous Bass Rock, and the Isle of May. I took these shots at sunset from the campsite on a nice autumn night.

Love Dunbar, was taken there at 14 with grandad as hes gran used to live there and he went to live with her at 14 to serv his time to be a master carpenter restoring old furniture.
He was taught to drive there at a big house now demolished, the dady of the manor said he could drive the dedion button car with 3 speed outside shift and gas lights.

Can't you get into the first carpark which has a shale hard standing? A mate was down at North Berwick the other weekend and said they have stopped parking along by the golf course, the top carpark was rammed he ended up parking in the town.

Going downhill from the campsite the first car park is Whitesands, the next is Barns ness, and the third is Skateraw all three have barriers. You used to be able to park outside Whitesands but the East Lothian gestapo put an end to that by enforcing ridiculous double yellow lines in the middle of nowhere, and dumping tons of soil on a flat area we used to park. You can park on the road outside the campsite before reaching the double yellow lines. There are grass areas off to the side, but no outlook on to the sea, The leisure centre is fine our van is a 6.3 m PVC and it fits so long as we can park with the walkway behind us to take up the overhang. We were in North Berwick three weeks ago and both the lower and upper carparks were quiet with inky one van in each car park. But we park at the law car park when going there.
