Having got the indicator working. time to address problem two ....My horn doesnt work.

Let me tell you what I have done so far.

Firstly on the horn itself took both terminals to a car battery and it sounds, the problem is at the boss end..on the steering wheel a repair has been made before it seems.

fuse checked and ok,

The negative terminal goes from the centre boss of the steering wheel to the part of the terminal that remains in the boss.

It looks like the problem is the positive feed, previous owner had soldered a piece of wire on to the original feed and that in turn is attached to the male part of the boss ( bit you press to get it to hoot).

I have cleaned the wire and attached a modified block connector to tidy it up
I reckon my wire is ok ....using the mulimeter ( caps taken off;)) it shows a reading of one which decreases to 0 so the wire is not broken ?.

On the voltage side, I have taken red probe to the wire, and black to an earth and nothing happens does this mean I have a dud live.? If so it looks a bugger to get to so is there a shortcut.?

Any suggestions warmly welcomed.

Mot is in a month I suspect sitting in the drivers seat shouting at folk and using gesticulars will not get me a pass.
