Spent the day mucking about just testing and checking stuff ready for the off. Good news everything is working apart from wipers part arriving Monday🤞. Put water in turned the heating on cleaned up a bit. Had a shower cooked my dinner. Lying back watching a good Film. Funny thing the noise of the rain battering of the roof is the best sound I’ve heard in a long time weird !. Tomorrow I might even start the engine if I feel adventurous.😜👍

I'm so jealous. Oh to be kept awake by rain on the roof.

Might be worth getting something like This.

I have fit these to my vans when I had sprinters, and did buy one for the motorhome but because it is automatic the crossmember and box that it bolts to are different and wouldn’t fit, and it seems that as automatic sprinters aren’t too common they haven’t made one to fit.
I could use one of them that have the wire cable, but have heard from people that have tried them that they don’t work.
I have changed the bolts to shear bolts to try slow them down

A while ago at a large dealership near Livingstone I asked why all their vans came with one fitted. Their secure compound had been broken into and all the CATs stolen, so they removed the CATs from stock and stored them. Next the thieves broke in again and simply took them from where they were stored, hence plan C and all the locks.

they stole the dpf off my last sprinter van and at just over £3,000 to replace it made it not viable, as it was 7 year old with just over 922,000 miles and due its mot and a new windscreen, which was a shame as I was hoping to do a million miles with it, if they could have just waited another few months I would have made it, but I wasn’t going to spend that sort of money on it just so I could take it to the million miles.

Yes Richard, same as. Over 3 grand to replace and they did 20 vans that night.

No wonder insurance goes up.
