Draining boards

My misses and myself were having a look at some rather nice (and expensive) new motor homes when my misses said there’s no draining board.
Now it’s the last thing that I would have thought of when buying a motor home but it would be quite a ball ache washing a plate/cup then having to dry it/your hands before washing the next plate/cup.
How do other people manage?

We use a draining rack fitted with its own drip tray - you can get them in most camping accessory stores and they work very well.

IKEA do a great one its a black oblong deep bowl type thing with a dish rack fitted inside that's what I use. Its called Boholmen part no 502.025.38 size is 9" x 16" about 7" deep.

if you can afford it ,maybe try this method-wash the plate, throw it out the door,go and buy some more plates. very satisfying

We won't be able to afford one of those after paying £70k plus for a new motor home :)

70k

What 70 k and it hasn't got a draining board I'd take it back complain get a solicitor we could all come over in our vans and form a blockade. Oops! Sorry wrong thread. :lol-049::lol-049::lol-049::lol-061::lol-061::lol-061::lol-061:

paper plates and cup and plastic cutlery use and dispose lol no washing jobs a good one saves on gas and arguments on whos turn it is to do it and the pans just give them to to dog to wash up

Absorbent mat

Home Bargains and B&M Bargains sell absorbent, quick drying micro-fibre mats in a range of colours for a couple of quid. They take all the drained water from the washing up, then you can just stick them on the dashboard in the sun to dry.

For what it's worth this is what we do to get over the lack of a draining board. Two small plastic bowls that fit inside each other they both nest together in the sink. When we wash up we put the two bowls on the side and put the clean wet pots in the bowls to drain before drying.Job done,no mess.

We have one of these but got it from dunelm mill. Works well at stopping the glass lid rattling when driving.

We have one of these - it's tapered so can direct water back to the sink, or collect it if that makes sense.

Takes up no space too :)

We bought the housemaid cheap a smallish washing up bowl from Asda. she washes the pots in that, the water stays hot longer than in the metal sink.the clean pots go into the sink to drain off.

It's easy to get rid of the water without it going into the grey tank.... avoiding smells in warm weather.

Otherwise ring for a Dominos pizza, park near a Mc Donalds or live on fish'n chips !::tongue:

We are always here to help !:)

You should have bargained harder and got them to throw one in!

We haven’t bought yet – still looking.
We are going to the show at Peterborough on Saturday and may just ask the rep ‘all this money for a van - why no draining board’ and see what he says.
