On Sunday morning after three months in France we return to the UK. The next leg of our adventure is Dorset and Devon. I know where I am going there but on Tuesday we are picking up a new Scooter in Yeovil so I kind of have two days to kill between Dover and Yeovil. If I can't find anywhere worth stopping ill just continue to Dorset and run up to Yeovil on Tuesday from there.

Looking for basic CL places, possibly a wild camp or a basic site but near somewhere worth seeing. Halfway would be good either on the coast or inland. I have had a look myself but nothing tickles my fancy so far.

Quite a lot more than half way Barry, in fact not far off of Yeovil, but Manor Farm (CS) at Burton Bradstock is a nice place to stay (we had a meet there recently).

I loved it there, 2 great pubs in the village, both doing food, close to Chesil Beach and some good walks down to West Bay. Not much in the way of facilities (Black/Grey waste, Basic toilets, showers x 2, and fresh water) but that's all you need really.

Wow that's what you call a long way down!
Yeoville

Or perhaps Yeovil? 😉

Yeah cheers. Now corrected. Doh! :D

We will end up near Bridport / Chideok once we pick up the new bike so I kind of want somewhere half way really. Or maybe even two places. I heard Bosham is nice around Eastbourne. The alternative is just to bash on to Bridport area, up to Yeovil on Tuesday then back to Bridport again. Dunno.

Bosham is very nice, but it's nowhere near Eastbourne! It's west of Chichester. Don't know anywhere to stay around there

Sorry. I meant Bognor Regis.

I have been to some of these places before but its a long time ago and its all a bit muddled. It will literally be Sunday afternoon and all day Monday I guess so no biggie.

How much did they give for the old one?

Pitney farm shop is about 10 miles from Yeovil, no fishing lake though. New forest is on your way.

The first part from Dover along South coast to Chichester is a pain in the butt....it's actually quicker to take M20 up to M25. And go round to M3 /a303.

Thanks. Thats what I thought. This is the route. Couple of nights around Bosham / Chitchester, early start Tuesday to Yeovil, pick up the new bike, Bugger off.
