Hi guys and gals,I'm new here and have just got a Swift Suntor after years of travelling around in a combi.
I have wife and baby in tow and was wondering if any of you had any ideas about the New Forest/Dorset coastline for a first trip with le famille.
We will be spending much of the summer in France and the Med so any ideas about these places also welcome.
We are veggie musicians so will be going to plenty of festivals.
Cheers.

being one of the more northernly members ;)

but I can welcome you to the site :D

ps. im sure some-one will have the info you need!

The dorset coastline is a fantastic place for a short break .

Chessil beach is great for fishing .
Bridport is a great market town and the many fresh fish shops are very good .
Just outside Bridport in West bay there is a car park near the quayside where you wil not be hassled its a bit close to the haven holiday park so it can get busy in the middle of summer

Hi Phil and a warm welcome to the site.
A fellow festival goer eh ;)
Lovely part of the world you are looking to visit. I can tell you that wilding in the New Forest will be difficult. Camping is supposedly only allowed in Official campsites and they are not cheap. The one at Brockenhurst is very nice though. unfortunately we were flooded out last year when camping in a tent

The forest is absolutely beautiful and well worth a visit. Dorset is also a lovely place. Try to see Lulworth cove if you can it is a gorgeous place to spend the day. Not sure about wilding in Dorset as I havent done it, ut I am sure there is a viewing point overlooking Kimmeridge bay which you should be able to park up and not upset anyone.

Have a great time, and let us all know how you get on.

look at wild camping

section in dorset you will find a good selection
enjoy

Thanks Guys.

Thanks for all of your possitive replies. It's nice to feel welcome as newbie.
I think Dorset will be first as it's only 2 hours for us and seems to have a wealth of beauty.

Avandriver, yes we will try Bridport,my wife isvery keen on fish,I only hope she doesen't stink the van out...Oh God!

Hazythoughts, yes I have to do a pile of festivals as it's kind of part of my job, check my site and find out much more...talk later.

Belgian, mostly Brittany and the west coast also Arles down to Valecia and over to the Balierics,we have a trip to Galicia planned for next year...maybe sooner.

Safety is always an issue when travelling, any hints or tips about do's and don'ts would be helpful as things have changed since the combi days...alas.

Nice talking to you guys.
