If you come to the continent and your British Pet passport is in order (micro chip -even a tattoo will do-, vacinations...) normally nobody should ask you. As for the other continental EU countries there isn't anymore any control at the former frontiers; youl'll be OK everywhere. Veterinaty visits are NOT necessary if you comply with British rules. Only the Swedish could ask for pet-passports, to have a very short look at them.
The real problem is getting back to the UK. (and that is really YOUR side of the problem....)
