Does anyone know a place to park a few nights in Whitstable during Christmas?

Hi! I’ve just registered as I found this site accidentally and it’s great.

I’ve been looking for somewhere to stay in Whitstable and there seems very little. Can anyone help?

You could ring Canterbury Council and ask them. They used to allow large vehicle parking in a car park in Tankerton, but I can’t think of anywhere in Whitstable itself.

I lived in Whitstable for a few months recently and would quite often see campers parked on the seafront near the castle and on Marine Parade at the top of Tankerton Slopes (Google Maps) I'm not sure what the rules are about it but I saw campers there more than a few times.

Whitstable itself is truly dreadful for parking even a car and I would caution driving around the side streets in a camper - people park on both sides of the street and there are definitely places you wouldn't get down the street!

The Tank Car Park on the sea front is large though and fairly easy to access. I don't know what their overnight rules are though. Sorry! Google Maps

Best of luck!

If you are visiting relations over the chrismas period I have found staying on the street or car park close by without a problem.
Usually communicated with the locals explaining your visit, not had a problem before.
As it’s the season of goodwill and cold and dark early with all eating drinking and watching t.v.

Haven’t stayed in whitstable, but the same principle could apply anywhere.

were ever you park your ass sorry donkey,it will be christmas, best of luck ,pj
