As a matter of interest,
is there much use of solar panels in Spain?

I would have thought so, as the climate seems suitable.

Btw, the radiators in Bulgaria, are they filled with water, or how are they used, please?

Yes we did get a grant from the government when we done our summer house and when we used them on the shop but thats stopped now most of the Spanish motorhomes have them on as they are cheap here mine for the small van was 85euros for 100w

Thank you, kenspain and basildog!

I remember at the mine in Australia that we never needed hotwater in the showers as the normal tapwater was nice and warm. It had come hundreds of miles in big steel pipes on TOP of the ground.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the old leather "waterbag" was a "must have" on the front of many a vehicle. This worked by evaporation resulting from the wind of motion when driving along.

In Malaysia, the roof tank was alright for some jobs, but, because it was open topped, the water wasn't too clean. On the other hand, the main water there was icy cold as it came from reservoirs up in the Highlands.

Thanks again for your help. I'll carry out some experiments, but could I just ask whether "plastic" would be alright for the pipework?
One of my sons-in-law is a plumber and he hates plastic, whereas, myself, I use it whenever I can. After all, we have plastic kettles nowadays, don't we?
