DIY awning

Hi there :)

I noticed the back of our van has an awning rail on the pop up part of the roof, so I am wanting to make my own basic awning. I can find online lots of the awning strips to put on the van, but I can't seem to find the part that goes on the actual awning fabric?? Is there a special name for it that I am yet to learn?? :lol-053:

Has anyone else made their own on here? Any tips or advice? :wave:

You could call Pennine Outdoor they sell all types of fabric and accessories for you to make your own tent, clothing and awnings. They're very helpful.

Its cord or rope inside with the fabric folded over and stitched down to retain the cord or rope inside.

I think what you are looking for is the strip to fasten the sheet to which then slides into the slot on roof,try towsure or van bits.
