Disappointing!

I have told this story before but..... Last year and our first night on the Hebrides and we were wilding on Vatersay, By 3.30 in the morning I was woken by seaguls dancing on the roof in clogs and fighting to boot........ when we got up I noticed they had trashed the roadside bin, spreading its contents all over the road and the pull off...... I spent the next 20 minutes tidying up and putting it all back, for fear of the locals thinking it was us......

Loch Lomond locals complaining...

You will have seen my post re tour buses and rubbish we will not stay near Loch Lomond on Friday or Saturday nights due to drunken paries on the shore or returning to Glasgow we have had enough tinnies thrown at us in the past

It is not Campers or Motor Caravans, or Cars and Caravans who buys fast food cotainers and drinks and sneaks under car before driving off !! Its not us that leave all the RUBBISH.

Son no, 2 worked for SNH and is one of those responsible for setting up the National Park.
He resigned over the lack of support he and his colleagues were getting in trying to control the litter and vandalism in the area. Neither SNH nor the Police were interested. An attempt was made to set a previous warden's shelter on fire with the man inside...drug taking (and dealing), bottles deliberately smashed, trees set on fire...the list went on and on.
It was felt that no one wanted to take on the Glasgow gangs who dominated the Balmaha area on Friday/Saturday/ Sunday.
Equally, it was seen as "inappropriate" to complain about the equally bad behaviour of the wealthier boating fraternity who roared around.
His only way of surviving several attacks was the fact that he has a Scot's name with Glasgow parentage and the thugs were fascinated to see him juggle fireclubs.
The failure of the Authority to provide skips at the start of the Lomond path and their decision to close the toilets overnight has certainly not helped...the fatuous notices whine "take your litter home", hardly practical walking the Way.

Ignorant Folk!

I think we should keep cameras at the ready and name and shame those that spoil it for others.

Any towels left !!!!!

Unfortunately we will always come across an ignoramus or two somewhere, and all nations suffer with their own groups of them. Shame on them!
