Disabling Reversing Sensors

Tow bar to be fitted for bike rack on '23 Peugeot Boxer. Supplier informs me that the spec for compatible wiring harnesses specify that reversing sensors will need to be switched off in the van. The harness won't automatically disabled them on plug in.

The thing is, I've searched the van menus, searched Google and can't find how to manually disable them. The central display is all sat nav and audio menus. The "mode" menu by the drivers right knee doesn't give access to the sensors.

Has anybody managed this with a recent Ducato/Relay/Boxer? Ideas?

As far as I understand, the way that a vehicle knows when it has a trailer (or whatever) is plugged into the socket isn't standardised and varies according to vehicle manufacturers so you're trailor (or whatever) needs to be compatible with your vehicle in order for the auto disabling of reversing sensors to work.
Normally the vehicle is triggered by one of the socket terminals being grounded out (connected to battery negative) so if you do a bit of digging around you should be able to confirm this and find out which pin is responsible for 'sensing'. All you need to do then is to make sure the appropriate pin on your trailer (or whatever) is taken to battery negative.
I guess it's easier for tow bar installers to tell you to turn off your reversing sensors😕

I'm having reversing sensors fitted when we get back in March and the installer is going to put a manual switch in the circuit so I can switch them off if I am using our tow ball bike rack.

This suggests you may need a software update but it does depend on the wiring kit. https://www.pfjones.co.uk/advice-centre/tow-bar-advice/tow-bar-electrics.html. My DIY fit towbar came from them. It was the basic wiring version. I’m fairly sure there was something in the instructions to allow the reversing sensors to be disabled but didn’t wire this. I’d consider asking pfjones for advice as a prospective purchaser to see what they say.

I found the sounder on my 2019 model and double wrapped it in foam , its still there when the bikes are on but not an annoying screech its more like a gentle hum
