Disabled toilet?

I need to temporarily change my toilet to a disabled toilet this summer, to take my elderly parents on what will probably be their last vacation trip. Anybody have any ideas? Here's a (not so good) photo of the bathroom:

The toilet cannot be turned at a right angle from the window, not enough room for the legs. I would like the toilet to be at least 10cm/4" higher, to make it easier to stand up.
 
Hi, go to your nearest mobility centre (Phone bok) and get an extension seat to make the toilet higher. they just clip on top and can be removed in seconds if needed. Also there are various suround stands which could be altered to fit your toilet room. these give something to hold onto and ease yourself down and up from the seat. They would be a less permanent salution. I have these things in my bathroom at home and am sure they could be adapted. Put an add on freecycle for them as there are hundreds out there that are not being used any more. All the best
 
I think the previous post is excellent. I do not no where you intend going but would it not be easier to stay on a camp site with all the fascilities you require available?

Not much help to you I'm afraid, but the washroom in my Topaz was adapted by Autosleepers & VW before purchase.
This meant added grabrails and handles but the major problem was the toilet height.
Thetford, nice though they were, couldn't help and we were unable to find a raised seat as the dimensions and shaope of the Thetford pan are not the same as a standard domestic wc.

This site is called 'Wild Camping For Motorhomes' I thought the OP was trying to find a solution to stay with this principle, if not I'm sure he would have gone on a CC forum!
 
You might have to improvise and call with Halfords or PC World or similar for a chucked away block of polysterene which you can trim to shape and fit over the seat with sticky backed velcro.

It is regretful that you have chosen to react in this way. You will find on numerous threads were posters, in particular relating to battery capacity, disposal of waste etc visit sites for these needs.

I hopefully was suggesting an alternative and not opening the gates for your type of posting.

I do not intend to continue on this topic as it was a serious question/suggestion trivialised by your posting

Thank you for replies etc. Styrofoam is a good idea, and so is contacting a mobility centre. We may be staying on a few camp sites but still need to find a solution to this. My parents would find it very difficult to leave the MH in the middle of the night to use site facilities.

And now concerning the other discussion that arose! The reason I posted here at Wild Camping is that this is the only site I know of, apart from the Swedish "Husbilsklubben" =) You all seem to be nice, friendly, helpful and resourceful people, and I thought you'd come up with some good ideas. You didn't disappoint me!

I have seen these in local charity shops too...I know the type of raised seat you mean, I think they are made of polypropalene (spelling) and very lightweight too. I think one of these would be the ideal solution and can be stored away easily.
Thinking about it they would probably work on porta potti's too.

I doubt his sort of seat would work, I have one and I dont think mine would fit but theres lots to choose from and would be a cheap option if you could find one that did fit.

Hi,

If the toilet is moveable, could you mount it on a 4" plinth to raise it up. We did this in in my late mother-in-law's bathroom; we unscrewed the pan from the floor, bunged a block of railway sleeper underneath and fixed the pan to the sleeper, and the sleeper to the bathroom floor. Not pretty but effective.
