Direct Line Insurance

I currently have a van insured with Direct Line. I wanted a quote to change it over to another vehicle, a Daihatsu Romahome Hijet. This is registered as a van and not as a motorhome. Direct Line say it's a conversion even though it was sold as a Romahome from new. They can't give me a quote unless I can tell them how much the conversion cost. How the bloody hell am I supposed to know that? Is it normal for insurance co's to not know what they are dealing with?

As a newly paid up member, I thought I would try AIB. I had no problem at all and got what I consider a very good quote for myself and partner. Under £180. I just have to inspect the vehicle and buy it if it's ok.
