I have a campervan and am looking for a omni directional aerial. It has to be magnetic so i can put on the roof and take it off as I dont want to put a hole in the roof. So looking for some actual recommendations. I have a small one in the van and it is pretty useless.

A lot of climbing up and down, asda do a yagi edn feed type for about 7 bucks,a clip could be made for window or a plate for roof.
Also no such thing as a digital antenna, its a con

Recently bought an Avtex STH3000 boosted directional aerial to use with my Avtex tv if wind to strong for roof mounted satellite.
I can basically stand it anywhere inside the motorhome and get reception. Comes with a suction mount etc for roof mounting if required.
Not the cheapest but works a treat.

Omnidirectional aerials are almost always useless. They can't have much gain and can't separate signal from noise and reflections. In the analogue days, that gave ghosting. With digital, it makes an even bigger mess.

Not saying there are none that are any use, but they're really expensive and still not all that good.

A magnetic base is tricky for most motorhomes because magnets don't stick to aluminium or fibreglass. Even if you have a steel roof, few other motorhomes or caravans do, so the market is small.

Well bugger knows the technical details of the Avtex STH3000 I bought but it works a treat as did the factory fitted vision plus one that was fitted to my previous pvc.

You'd probably get good results with a wire coat hanger in the back of the TV in many places. It's where the signal is marginal that matters.

I have used these for years and got great reception but also used the antena finder on my phone to know where best to stick it

I have recently switched to one of these and get a great reception sometimes just chucking it on the dashboard

Mines only as a back up to my auto satellite so rarely used but has always worked great regardless of where I have been parked up.
