Hi everyone..

Have just been looking at different diesel heaters for the van, some seem to be free standing some are fitted ,which are better ? And how difficult are the fitted ones to install ,I assume the ones around 125 pounds are Chinese so will have a limited life. Thanks for any imput.

Most are easy to fit, 2 main holes to be cut in the floor, inlet air and exhaust, not forgetting a fuel line to the tank or a sep small tank if you wish.
Dont buy the stand up ones with a inbuilt tank, ones from china are a gamble as different makes have problems and funny ways of working, not all i may add, but no or few parts.

Free standing ones aren't suitable for installation in spaces that haven't got full free ventilation...

Occasional use and if your prepared to Tinker = Chinese cheap

Regular out of season use that you rely on = eberspacher

2kw is plenty for most campers/motorhomes
Bigger means potential issues with it sooting up due to not working hard enough...

Eberspachers generally have better temp control and thus tend to be capable of using less electrical power.

Thanks everyone for your help .I will investigate if it is feasible for my van.
