Diesel heater or propex

My 1600 propex heater isn’t warm enough Im thinking of replacing it with a diesel one running from the van fuel tank,does anyone know if I can just put a T piece on the existing fuel line rather than tap directly in to the tank

Many years ago you could T pieces , but not on any modern deisel fitting videos on you tube ,or use a separate tank usually come in Chinese kit
