I’ve discussed this with another member, but I’d like to have as many views as possible.

Fiat Ducato 2007
Diesel heater fuelling direct from the vehicle fuel tank.
1,Separate stand pipe into the tank.
2, Tee into the main fuel line.
Fuelling from the vans own fuel tank is the only option I’m considering at the moment.
 
If the Fial is anything like a Transit of similar vintage then there could be a seperate take off in the sender unit in the top of the tank and you can get connection kits from Eberspacher or fleabay.

On the videos I’ve seen , they squeeze, no other word for it, squeeze one into the sender unit. It’s tight.
One comment made by the presenter, Hughtube, suggests that , Teeing in could cause engine fuelling problems. As I would not be running a diesel heater whilst driving, I’m not sure if this would be an issue.
There’s going to be an expert out there 🤞
 
You cannot T into the main fuel line as it will empty the fuel rail and filter, making your van into a non starter,
As already mentioned a lot of vehicles have a separate take off on the sender unit

Thanks Richard, as the answer didn’t involve bandages, I knew it wasn’t Helen.
New stand pipe it is then. If anyone knows of a separate fuel take off on the Seval vans, don’t be shy ☺️
 
A technical one I actually knew ish...we have a pipe into the fuel tank....it's shorter so that it doesn't drain the fuel if we had I it on for a long time in a cold night. That is the limit of my knowledge!! 😵
 
Why not have both!
Or would that blow pump, dry, as and when primein 2nd tank on start up ?
Air bubbles and the likes!

Not sure what you mean wun ☕️. Either using the supplied tank or using the vehicle fuel tank, a stand pipe is required. AFAIK. The pump on the heater is in effect, one way. Therefore only needs priming on first use.
 
Put a y or t / Branch off befor supplied tank while under / outside with tap to vehicals tank stand pipe in vehicle tank.so both. as I can run sprinters tank very low while in commuter mode .

Take a look at Richard's reply #4. It'a problem I'm not prepared to risk.
 
On my Citroen (same as the fiat) I carefully drilled a hole in the cover for the sender unit then fitted it from above. I used a take off pipe for a planar heater, which had a clever narrow washer that meant that I did not need to remove the sender unit from the tank.
 
Now I am not sure as mine has its own take off but I have heard you can take off on the return line from van supply. This may work for some vans and not others so please investigate before doing this )
 
Diesel heater.
All kit ordered, well nearly all. Won’t know what else I’d need until I open the box. Pretty sure that I’d need a second silencer ( muffler), and better air filter.
I’ve got the solar to do first. The aluminium for that should arrive today. Looking forward to a couple of dry, warmer weekends, Saturday to Wednesday really. It would be impossible to do anything with Millie here.
If I can work out how, I’ll try to post pictures when, (and if) I finish it.
 
You can get a second muffler and extension pipe as a kit , there seems to be a couple of different lengths I used a long one (1200mm) and you can barely hear the heater running , in fact you can hear the pump above the noise of the exhaust even when stood right by the outlet (2 mtr away) , and the pump has a soft mount and a insulator jacket on it .
 
I found fitting an intake silencer had more effect than the exhaust silencer fir that jet sound. I got a kit off eBay for a tenner with both mufflers
