Just spent a night at DD, lovely area, spectacular views but at night time!!
Almost constant stream of cars coming and going throughout the course of the night and shouting from yobs attached to those cars.
Having spoken to local guy in the afternoon, he warned us that the area (car park was the one past the pub) was a spot where the perves come, his words, not mine, and were quite likely to knock on the door to see if you were "game". So we may have had some questionable visitors, or just yobs, either way it was a terrible night.
A real shame because it is a lovely area to visit but not, in my view, anywhere you would want to overnight.
One amusing moment though, having been told that the perves may come knocking, bugger me (sic) a gentleman came a knocking....me being 6'2" and 16 stone, my cowardly girlfriend said I should see what he wanted. So I fling the door open and give him a stern "YES?" He then explained that he and some other chaps were setting up a moth catching survey in the nearby woods and was apologising in advance for potential disturbance in the early hours....well that what he said they would be doing in the woods!
Cheers all ::cheers

I fulltime in Brighton and yes it would seem Devils Dyke is a 'dogging venue'. Advice I received from a fellow van dweller was to park up near the trees at the back at night not at the front overlooking the valley. This signals that you are not there for the after hours activities.

We parked up there a few years ago...it took us an hour to cotton on to the antics :ninja:

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The area is littered with this going on, Carots Cafe, Shoreham and the 'park' near to Burgess Hill are two I know of. You cant walk a dog at Burgess Hill without somebody 'eyeing you up' and carots cafe is the same albeit I have been down there late a night whilst Bass fishing from the beach and there is a LOT of goins on!. Anyway, neither wouldn't be very nice for camping.

I have spent a lot of time up there in the past.

Never got bothered by the doggers. I'm aware it goes on but don't understand the big fuss. Just say no if asked.

They know there are motorhomers wilding, we know there are doggers.

Hi all,
We stayed there new years eve on our way to France and Spain. My view is everyone to their own but staring through our back windows about a foot away is definitely a no no
