Not that impressed for £116k
This type of M/Home was as common as crepe [spelling?] on the aires in Spain, Kev - mainly on Merc Chassis; and the nearest they were going to get to off road was reversing up onto the services, or, shock and horror, coping with a mild rut that the last downpour had left on the gravel ... But, there again, I am the proud possessor of a C.O.G. plus Bar [Cynical Old Git}Not that impressed for £116k
If you want a proper 4WD camper, look at my avatar.
I hate the "only 1 small gas bottle" Yes it's only for the cooker, but what are you supposed to do when it runs out?
I solve that problem (cough) by self filling my single 6Kg propane cylinder before each trip. I wonder what others do?

What, not even the brakes? ...I would love one of these Dave, especially the Adventure+

Wild Camper Trucks | Home
Incredibly cool demountable truck campers. Based in Edinburgh and Kendal, ready to explore the world. Wild camp in style. Where will you go?www.wildcampertrucks.com
Everything we need in a camper but would be a bit tight with the 2 Dogs!
Other factors that stop me buying one are;
1) Julie doesn't want one![]()
2) We have no real need to go off road
3) I can't afford one!
Apart from that, nothing's stopping me.
Demountables come in all forms. That one would not suit us. No toilet compartment for a start, most like that at best have a slide out porta potti with no privacy. And many like that are pop up roofs.I would love one of these Dave, especially the Adventure+

Ours us larger, A Tischer Trail 260S more akin to a motorhome inside but obviously is is more bulky and expensive.
The chief benefit for us is when it's not being a motorhome, it becomes an ordinary pickup truck to carry or tow things, or just drive as a car.
Call into KFC or mc donalds. If you want a proper 4WD camper, look at my avatar.

I skipped through that. The only thing I was impressed with was the massive fridge which is a compressor. I never saw how it was all powered for offgrid and with room just for a single puny 2.6kg gas bottle I am guessing its got a massive solar array and lithium with diesel heating otherwise its useless?
Couldn't find any specs of solar either. Think I'd up battery storage and go all electric or go for a diesel cooker.I'm a bit confused with the battery setup Barry, "An AGM battery and a set of six lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 263 Ah" from the spec it seems that it is a 95AH AGM and 6 x lithium cells giving a further 168AH. I've downloaded the PDF's but can't find any mention of Solar unless I've missed it.
To be fair though, it does have other fittings such as the water filtration system to purify water from say a stream or lake and also a 5G Wifi system as well as a Diesel heater and 32" TV.
To be honest, it's 4x4, automatic, high spec with SOME lithium which is rare on new models. I think the price tag is probably about right, I wouldn't buy one though if I had the money.

Globebus Performance 4x4
Dethleffs, the leisure vehicle specialist, has unveiled a near-production prototype of its first all-wheel-drive motorhome, the Globebus Performance 4x4.www.dethleffs.co.uk

Ideally that needs to be on a 5 tonne + model, which means a MAN TGE if you want a 4x4. VW only do 4x4 up to 3.5 tonnes, (up plated to 3.8) Spending that much and new, why not put it on the right chassis in the first place.

Ours has 2 100Ah Lithium batteries charged by the 2 solar panels on the roof and of course the engine when driving. It does all we need when touring, compressor fridge, diesel water and space heater and gas cooker.
I would not choose a diesel cooker, we have one on the boat (well not quite diesel but spirit burning) and is as stinky as hell. You need the hatch open just to boil a kettle for a cuppa. So I am glad to have the gas hob.
We have never yet found a need to plug the mains hookup in, other than winter at home when there is not much sun.
