Decent cup of tea.

Water is really important. As a kid we used to love a cuppa at my Grandmas. She used the same tea as us and Dad said it was the water. Didn't know what he meant back then. I moved to Derbyshire 26 yrs ago from Nottingham and the supply in our part of Nottingham was blended from borehole water from the sandstone aquifer and heavily treated water from the Derwent below Derby, it was awful to drink and beverages weren't great. Here we are largely on Derwent reservoirs supply AFAIK, which is straight off the moors and makes great tea, coffee and beer. Travelling abroad in the van I take Yorks. bags for covenience but have had some awful brews depending on where I last filled up.

We never really trusted the tank water for years due to changing van once a year or so, we used bottled water, and everythign tasted shite, with this van being a keeper we fill up at home, and when we fill again we taste the water, and often we leave without, but we never use bottle water now for hot drink.

Yorkshire Tea
Comes in 2 varieties.
Red box for soft water , green for less fortunate regions..

Since I've now been blessed with Chalfont St. Giles, for my sins, Decaff is the new reality.

Gave up on that,as it's a hard water area, above Faro.

At this time of the year, having had no rain into the reservoirs since early June, there's a lot of minerals, fluoride and shird bite in the tap water.
So I just have to struggle through on Brandy, red wine and beer.. Not as a cocktail.

Management, being type 2 Diabolic, loves my mixture of root ginger, lemon and green tea. Most therapeutic.

We've recently taken to sipping a simple infusion of a lemon slice in hot water, 1st thing.
Our doctors advised this.
It's a good start to the day.

Nobody to blame but yourself.

I warned you about the heat, the stench, all those diseases and the flies. But you ignored me and lived too long in Yorkshire. At least you are somewhere nicer now. :giggle:

Tastes change.
When I was a mere oily apprentice lad I used to make tea that corroded the spoon. Now, well into my seventies, the bag's in and out in less than a minute, and it's topped up with far too much (for some) unleaded milk.
Coffee, though, still gets made to a strength and consistency that'll melt the average prostate.
