Dead RM7360L fridge

Next time you visit Scotland, Kev, let me know. I have a compressor with long reach airline [matched with the compressor by the Supplier], so we could perform a, ahem, blow job on the drive! There's an offer you won't get every day! :ROFLMAO:. If you need a quicker solution :eek:, anyone with a Ring RAC 900 Tyre Inflator should be able to help. Again, the air hose is long enough to use on a 7.5m Van, so easy to reach the fridge vent area; and the Ring has crocodile clips, so you can hook up to the VB using the Ducato under bonnet positive and earth connections

The small fridge i have is sealed and i dont hear a compressor running, it uses .25 of a amp to run and will go 24 hrs on a 90ah lead acid battery.
Seems to have worked well over the years on the road, but it is a small unit, wont hold enuff food for hungry bears.

Ackcherlee, I have an air blower for my keyboard. I suppose that would work, but I need to get around the other problems mentioned.

Just listen to all those people who have had a "house fridge" in their motorhome for years without any problems ( and I mean ANY problems, unlike the constant threads about 3-ways not lighting, not cooling, etc).

The first time I fitted a 240V residential fridge in my camper, I did have reservations about the vibrations and I actually bought a spare identical one in case it failed (yes, they can be that cheap that I bought a brand new spare fridge and still saved hundreds of quid over a 12V compressor one).
But never had a problem and I sold the spare one I think last year. Never been used and just sat in the shed in the box).

The only nod to transport the 12V "Motorhome" Fridges have is a locking door and the shelves go into runners rather than just sit on little ledges. I added a locking system to the door and used white (to blend in) duct tape to go on the shelf edges and the fridge sides to stop any movement.
 
My first port of call has to be the local caravan repair place, it could be a simple and cheap fix, 3 ways are fine, millions have had them with no problems, and it's already fitted so less problems, I'll get them to sort the awful mess of wiring and to make the access to the burner box easier.

There is your problem. A three-way fridge has to be reasonably level (3 degrees for Thetford, 6 degrees for Dometic) to cool, but it will light at any angle.
If it is tricky to light, there is a fault. Fix the fault and it should work far, far better.
I can't quite see your fridge burner from here, but the things to check are thst the burner is clean, the jet isn't gummed up and the thermocouple probe is in good condition and well in the flame.
 
No, it isn't the real problem, it still doesn't light on flat and level ground.


I never checked the degrees, I'll do that later just out of curiosity.

That's the point. If it is hard to light, that is the problem, not the angle the fridge is at. It should light easily, regardless of angle.

For a dometic, simply put a coffee mug on a table. If the mug slides off, the fridge won't be happy. If the mug stays put, the fridge will be fine.

Thetford? 3 degrees is more tricky. You will need fo faff around with a spirit level or a phone app.
 
The van is very flat on the drive, maybe a touch high at the front, but nothing would ever slide. I bet it's less than 3°, I'll check it once my eyes are back to normal.

As mentioned, it's already booked in, & and I never said it was a level issue, I thought that was you Geek, al I said was it's wouldn't light at home.
 
Dont bother with a fridge, ph a order to ubereats and a asian chap will cycle 50 miles to find your van up some dead end mountain road. 😨
I was in dublin last monday i swear i was in calcuta.😂
