Crit’Air sticker

Hiya Maja.

I think the link posted earlier Who will get which Crit'Air Colours? – Crit-Air.fr is about as concise as it is ever likely to be.

The application process isn't so difficult and once you've read a bit from the French website it'll all be as clear as crystal.:pc: Not.

The link for the app is pretty good as well.

In answer you your question I would say there is no requirement for a sticker pre 2001, but don't dream of going into the zones unless you want to give Plod a bonus that is.

Cheers

H

Confirmation from the French Crit Air system this morning.

Our van, 2005 Hobby 750 tag axle on 2.8jtd, is category 4. Total cost €4.80.

On the link in the first quote, they want nearly €30 for the Vignette. But you only paid £4.80?
I guess the first site is taking a nice commission to process the request - do you have a link to the place where it cost you just the £4.80 please?
Oh, and how long do these last? Annual? One-off thing?

It lasts for as long as your windscreen does or until it fades so much as to be illegible.

That link was only to clarify the questions raised over the above 3,500kg categorisation. The link in post number 25 is the actual, official, French government site.

thanks for that. There are a few of those sites around that charge a nice little surcharge for govt services.

BTW, I think there is a typo on the official site ... the light commercial is described as "> 3500kg" when I am guessing it should be "< 3500kg"?

I've posted this before in some other thread regarding weight & classification, on the official Crit'air website in the FAQ section there is a link to contact them if you can't find the answer in the FAQ, below is a copy of the email I sent & their reply. The M1 is what I have listed on section j of my V5. Personally I think if you have a sticker are they going to be doing anything other than checking you have one & it is valid for the area you are travelling.

Message :
I have a 2017 camping car with a Euro 6 diesel engine, my current weight is 3700 kgs. In field j of my registration document it shows M1. What do I select for vehicle type - Private Car - Light Goods - Heavy Goods? In the UK I am classed as Private Heavy Goods.

Reply :

Dear sir,

Your camping car is considered as a car if you have M1 mention.

Best regards
Cordialement,

I think they ( the French ) class > 3500kg as up to 3500kg ....................... were as in the UK we class < 3500kg as under 3500kg

Just received my confirmation email with pdf invoice attatchment for the certificate. It does say that the print out of the invoice is valid proof of a certificate if you need to enter a zone before you receive your sticker in the post. Ours may not arrive before our ferry crossing to Spain so it is pleasing news that a print out is valid proof. We do plan to meander through France on the return from Spain.

Mine took 9 days from online application to receiving the sticker through the door, that was last year though before the mad rush :scared:
