Hi
Does anyone have any idea on if it is possible to take a standard 2 berth VW Gtcombe or Clubman and convert it into a 4 berth? It looks like the room space is the same but we don't know how pricey a job it's likely to be. Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks

I owned a 4 berth 2005 Gatcombe a few years ago, it had 2 facing setees, which made a double bed, and another double could be made up over the cab in the luton.

Not sure of the internal layout of the VW vans but I was quoted about £1200 2 years ago to convert a 2 berth Talisman to 4 berth by Autosleeper. I already had overcab storage and I'm assuming you have also.

I presume you'd want to convert the dormer into a double. It looks do-able from photos I've seen but you may need to provide the dormer with a temp hinge down floor over the cab, and remove the storage cupboards depending on the model. You could probably do it yourself for £300 parts. Is this a practical layout though, because the occupants of the overcab then have to descend onto the double below, in order to get out (?) If some want to visit the facilities during the night it means disturbing everyone else... it looks pretty cramped.
