Confused.

however there does appear to be much more violent crime ( murders) now, than back in the the 50`s when i was a lad.

I'm not so sure about that, look at the Kray brothers in the late 60s.

One thing that really gets me though is this paedophile business. If you believe some media outlets, children are not safe alone in the streets or in the parks, yet the truth is that most children are abused either by a family member or family friend.

I think that crime and violent crime has got worse. Our population is getting out of control and more and more Ghettos are appearing. There are new types of violent crime too, for example in my youth I don't remember people setting fire to cars and then attacking the Fire Brigade when they arrive. Also drug related crime has increased massively as we continue to adopt a soft policy on offenders.

Role models like SIR Paul Mcartney have a lot to answer for!

Ange, even if you only get as far as your front door, get out and smell the Roses. You are suffering with cabin fever and are feeling down with recent events.

2 points to bear in mind.

1 A walk in the fresh air is the best medecine when you are feeling down. It is an inbuilt medecine and there are no side effects.

2 get a sheet of paper, draw a line down the middle, on one side write down what makes you fed up and on the other side, write down what makes you happy.

If nothing else works, I can get you a padded cell next to mine. The warders, err I mean assistants are wonderful. I am sure you will like it here. we had a visit from Elvis today.

Is Elvis still working down at the chip shop by any chance?:lol-053:

One child (on average) is killed by it's parents every 10 days. Sod rotweilers - time we had a Dangerous Parents Act...
