Confused by power options

Hi everyone, I have an Elddis Autostratus EK SE (1997) and am confused by the options for power. When connected to mains hook up how do I use the 240v for water heating etc. The water pump only works when I turn the switch to "Aux battery" but doesn't this mean I am working 12v?

sorry I haven't got a van like yours. Could you tell us what make of heater etc you've got and describe the switches.

nearly forgot, sometimes in a cupboard/wardrobe there are two switches, one for the fire the other for the water heater, you might need to flick these.

I assume that your other 230v sockets are working, if so it probably has hidden switches (beige in colour usually!)

Usually the heater heater has a indicator that doesn't have a 'gas flame' logo. That then is usually the 230v.

When connected to 230v mains, the 230v goes through your onboard charger and anything 12v is still powered by 12v via the battery which itself is being charged by the mains input. You may notice lights etc a little brighter because of the higher voltage through the 12v system.

hope this helps.

PS welcome to the site.

hi
most water pumps in motorhomes are 12v so you need to switch the 12v side on.
the 240v mains inside normally comes on automatically.
there may be a switch for the water heater and electric heater (normally in a wardrobe.
