Concord/Morello. I am confused!!

Had a moderately heated discussion with a Dutch couple last year with a huge Concord plus double axle trailer with a Porsche TOAD at Benicarlo Aire ... When I refused to move our 5.99m M/home ('because you're blocking our view of the sea, and you're not a proper camper anyway!'), I explained that this is not how Aires worked. It is first come, first served, and, because he was parked on the street, being too long to get on the Aire, he was breaching the local prohibition on street parking for M/homes ... :ROFLMAO:

He’d have got short shift from me. Had an English bloke in Geneva last year order me off the grey waste point because he was in a hurry, I’d literally just opened the tap, so I made him wait 30 mins.

Personally I don't get it. Fair enough if you are on a film set for several months but I wouldn't fancy chucking one around the Alps or the Italian Lakes let alone trying to squeeze it onto a packed Sosta or Aire and I bet a lot of campsites are awkward or off limits. 8m is about as big as I would want to go although our new to us van is now 8.5m with the bike on the back. An extra metre longer than the old van.

Some of the blingy ones you see on these multi million pound motorhome shows look like something Donald Trump would have. You cant buy taste I guess. :D

It's a shame, but probably a characteristic of human behaviour, that we pitch alongside hundreds, possibly thousands of fellow M/homers each year who fade into anonymity, yet it is the 5 or 6 PITAs and their selfish, entitled behaviour that we remember ... All they do is give us another acronym to mutter sotto voce, 'WDYJFO', pronounced 'wood juffo', and meaning ' Why don't you just foxtrot oscar' ... :ROFLMAO:

Interestingly I never swear or raise my voice when I’m put out or angry, but I’m told I’m very effective at stopping people behaving badly.

Great thread.
We once saw a huge something towing a car, on the M6 I think.
The behemoth and car had matching paint jobs.

I can never understand people in oversized motorhomes turning up just as it's going dark expecting to find a suitable place .

If they had any sense in a massive van they would have secondary transport and get there around lunchtime. Use the bike, quad or toady to then explore. Vans that size you really need something.

When we lived in France it was fine given the excellent roads South but when we bought it back to the UK we really couldn’t go anywhere we really wanted to, horses for courses as they say but tbh I prefer using my van as it’s so easy to just get in and go, my wife misses the cocktail cabinet obviously. :ROFLMAO: DSC00810.jpeg

Be three year while at CCC THI Scougall Farm, we were parked pretty close to the entrance to THI field. While sitting out I saw what looked like an apartment block moving towards us, it was a Morello. I got talking to the owners, one was a BP exec, you would need to be to own and fuel one up. The motor was fairly new, what I loved was, from the rear cavernous garage, came a matching in colour Smart car, which was of course was run around. Seriously, the garage was huge!!!

I’m no into pishin in a bucket or having a wash wae a sponge out of that same bucket been there done that😂 Started wae a wee two man tent by the end of my tenting days I had a four bedroom blow up thing with a lounge and blow up furniture needed a sprinter van to carry all the crap I acquired over the years. It’s my ocd or addictive nature I don’t know when to stop. First van was 5 metres present van 9 meters so for me it’s a natural progression once I get there I think what the hell did I do that for. As long as your having fun what dose it matter what somebody else thinks.

The thing that gets me with a Morello is there’s only one door in/out, their hard to manoeuvre due to the size so if someone parks close to the door that needs fold out steps your f##ked

'As long as your having fun what dose it matter what somebody else thinks.'

Have that printed on a green self-adhesive sunshield (might need 2 lines, even with a screen that wide ...) and sign it Morello Man and Commodore Chick, and you'd sell 'em as fast as you could print 'em ... :ROFLMAO:

I've got one in Brunhilde that reads, 'Mine's only little, but it gets used more often, and fits into the tightest spaces' ... :ROFLMAO:. Trouble is, it covers the whole windscreen ...
