What are its advantages ? Mmm ..... ... having already spent 50% of what I paid for it in the first place on repairs and improvements ... I am getting my money's worth come h*ll or high water... whatever that might mean ...


Seriously I really really like my van - it is utterly self contained and perfect for one person - and it takes me into really isolated places where i can enjoy nature's solitude and peace and beauty - where I can walk and write and sketch and go into towns when i feel like a bit of company and it provides me with a really simple life, and I hope it will keep me travelling for many years to come.

I have got off wet grass a few times with it.

Its been MOTd today - there's just a few bits n pieces to sort out - then it will be ready for my long summer jaunt
 
If your van is how you want it, why should you have to justify it to anyone else.
Every person's needs are different, what they have is for them no one else, when we went to Morocco I put a bracket on the back with a can, but never put any fuel in, and did not need to.
If you plan your journey just keep an eye on the fuel gauge, always top up when it is just under the half way line

I think the regulars on this forum, bless them, tease me because they have seen me ask so many questions about my van - I knew nothing AT ALL about vans when I bought it 18 months ago and it was a real deadleg of a van... but ... with the fantastic knowledge which came from our wild camping community I have learned a massive amount and plan to be out in the wilderness again this summer.

I fill up whenever I am able to put fuel in - because I don't plan ahead much at all.. I tend to just wander about .... I'm a bit nomadic and a bit barmey really
