Coffee Anyone?

Who thinks that they have the nicest coffee in their vehicle and what do you use to make it, instant, perculator, on gas or electric?

when i can afford it, i buy LIDL aribaca coffee, and brown sugar and just have it now and again as a treat. my normal coffee is 50p tesco stuff

I find that cup for cup, real coffee is cheaper than instant. I buy a bean I like from France and sometimes ground coffeee from the local Portugese store. I make it the old Breton way in an earthern ware jug. strong enough to float a nail in to quote John Steinbeck.:p

I like my coffee to be like my women..................Hot Black and Strong.:lol-053::lol-049:

Currently carrying Morrison's Gold Freeze-Dried Decaff and Cafe Direct Classic Medium Roast.

Just picked up, though, something called Energy Rocket Fuel - strong, dark, instant coffee with Guarana. Not bad. Made me sit up and take notice, anyway!

Occasionally I get some ground and use the cafetiere, but it's all the fiddly washing up afterwards. Guess I'm just lazy that way...;)

I've got a small Nespresso Essenza capsule coffee maker. Makes the best espresso ever. only drawback have to be on electric hook up, so alas can't take it wilding. so I use Kenco Millicano. no substitute but does make a good natural tasting cuppa.

You meen to say you are supposed to wash the cafetiere afterwards????:mad1:

once asked for a small expresso in portugal, their machine had broken down,so the owner put 3 heaped spoons of nescafe in the little cup, just about fitted, poured hot water on and i couldn't tell the difference,it was fine

Is this a cunning ploy, Viktor, whereby you find out who has the best coffee and arrange a little gathering with them???

Mine is either Aldi's Rich Roast ground coffee, which I use a filter with, into a thermos flask, (and top with aerosol cream if it's for me!!) - can be done by gas or electric; or if I'm being lazy, Douwe Egberts Pure Gold Instant. (Also topped with aerosol cream, love it!!)

Kenco Millicano is pretty good for instant, Starbuck's do instant sachets (forgotten the name) which are almost indistinguishable from real.

Ah! sussed out lol!

<< Douwe Egberts Pure Gold Instant. (Also topped with aerosol cream, love it!!) >>

Mine too except that I've had to dump the cream in keeping the weight off and now make the whole thing
with skimmed (Red) milk and then hit it with the mini whisk.

I really want the 'smell of the fresh coffee in the morning' so I guess I'm going to have to visit the local
coffee company and have a taste experience and look for an on stove percolator. :lol-053:

black neat and uadulterated that how i like coffee as for brand the chepies has to do. Then for a treat do have filter coffee use filter from machine onto jug (got one that fits the filter)teaspoon of filter cup of boiling watewr over top leave to sit for few mins then pour into cup ,as the problem wwith filter machine is that they dont keep it warm for long enough and it soon goes tepid ,and that way i end up with a cup of coffe not a jug of coffee

I love real coffee and have found Lidl's Belladrom ground coffee in the big gold packs to be far and away better than virtually all other up market makes. It is also much cheaper (and on special offer at the moment too). Truly unbeatable, IMHO. At home I have the luxury of an espresso machine but in the van I use a stove top pot (where boiling water is forced up through the coffee into the top compartment). Just add milk, hot or cold, to taste.

Coffee on the go

For a no mess cup, I use a filter paper and straight into a decent sized mug, but if I am needing to do more than just a cup, I use the cafetiere or the cafetiere-in-a-mug that I got from Starbucks, who also make a micro-ground sachet called Via which is really good, if a bit pricey. I tend to buy a variety of different coffees from a local roaster in Reading called Workhouse Coffee, but most supermarkets seem to have woken up to what us javaheads are wanting. I have never had good luck keeping good coffee in a thermos - it always seems to come out acidic or bitter. When I use a cafetiere, I always wrap it in a soft tea towel to keep the heat in. For espresso, I have a back-pack device which makes a single shot on a gas stove in about two minutes.

Thanks for all these answers....I was wondering because some solutions involve a bit of a mess (which no doubt find their
way into the waste tank) and I was looking for people's experiences too as to what their personal solution has evolved into,
as well as their personal choice brands.

I'm going to try several of the mentioned brands for variety...
