That’s my sort of wild camping Bill. As Terry said you’ve lucked out with the weather. Forecast good for next week too.

It looks a bit Campsite like already Bill. When we done the Uists in August 11 years ago it felt like we were the only van on the islands. Not here tomorrow rain forecast and winds up to 40mph. Hope the ferry to leverborough sails ok.Will manage Berneray east beach tomorrow, but not enough time for west, that will happen next trip.
Also bad news this place might be turned into a campsite by the farmer for 25 vans, they have applied for planning permission.
Some here are opposed, but it’s reckoned it will go ahead.

That’s the problem Cal, 11 years ago there were far less vans than today, and this place is what you call a honey pot. Baleshare was quiet, we were alone that night, and we walked along a fantastic beach to benbecula airport and back. Yes the scenery is a bit better here, but I much preferred Baleshare. They are asking for £15 a night here for nothing but a parking place with a water tap, and bins. I only put £10 in the honesty box, and I reckon that was generous. Times have changed. It looks a bit Campsite like already Bill. When we done the Uists in August 11 years ago it felt like we were the only van on the islands.
There are some quite fantastic places here cal, I would not rule Uist out. We spent three nights here on our own, this is the busiest place so far this trip apart from Vatersay. But the numbers are far fewer than places on the mainland. Last night we had another van and two campers for company.I guess they’re a victim of their own success. Don’t think I will visit the Uists again as Harris has more to offer me.
I think you’ll enjoy Harris as the landscape is more dramatic and mountainous. There are some quite fantastic places here cal, I would not rule Uist out.
