Hi all

Some help please if possible. I have an Alba 16 inch tv in motorhome. It's a led16911hd model - showing on the back sticker
- Power supply 220-240 ~ 50hz 20w

Now if I chop off the plug and fit a cig adaptor to plug into my control panel adapter will this work?

Thanks in advance

Hi ya,
Unless it has a facility to run of of 12v then I doubt it very much.
It needs AC not DC I think.

Chopping off the mains plug and fitting a cigar lighter plug in its place definately won't work, but if there is a largish rectangular block along the lead between the plug and the TV, you might be able to do what you want to. If there is a block like that, see what is written on it. There would be a voltage in and a voltage out.

Hi

Thanks very much for your replies. Sadly nothing denoting the voltage and no block in between, so I'll have to invest in an Arvtex at some point :(

I bought a nice 16" TV/DVD by Cello a few months ago. Around £130 and came with both a 240V AC lead and 13A Plug, and a 12V DC lead with cigar lighter plug.

shocked

Only power blocks are good to convert like that! some have a adapter as a 240v 3 pin house plug also.
Any box will have a small amount of information .

May bee your unit has a separate input at 12v
