cheep ferry crossings

Try DFDS from Dover to either Dunkirque or Calais - haven't found a cheaper way to do it.

Newhaven-Dieppe. 20 percent discount over 60s. Telephone booking only.

It's a nice route......great to land in Dieppe but it's 4 hours as I remember, and even with the discount I wonder how it compares to the Dover to Calais?

Booked a few days ago for 28 July to 11 August - cheapest was P&O Dover-Calais at £117.60 return (http://poferries.com/) with a £20 meal voucher for the outbound leg. As we always buy a meal on the boat anyway that was the best deal - I think AA membership gave 5% (or maybe 10%) but £20 is 17% so a lot better.

DFDS were full for the times, although not the dates (they had midnight to 4am kind of times), MyFerryLink are closing, the tunnel was about £180 and Newhaven-Dieppe was £380 if booked via Ferries to France & Holland - DFDS Seaways or £190 through Ferry to France | Cheap Ferry France | Cross Channel Ferry | LD Lines! I think that's because the size selections are different on the two sites - dfds only allow a big motorhome the be selected and ours is twt (as we say here).

Brittany ferries are so expensive as to be out of the question for us, plus they're mostly very long crossings so not ideal with a 2 year old.

AFerry | Compare & Book Ferries to France, Ireland, Spain were 40p more expensive - £118 instead of £117.60. Plus, I've used them before and, if you do have to change the booking, they charge an administration fee on top of anything the ferry company charge. On that note, the extra cost for the flexible fare on P&O is £40; the charge for changing a booking with the cheapest fare (per leg) is £20. Work that out...

I got the same deal for a crossing on 4th Dec with a return on 4th Sept, originally the offer was 20% off and a £20 meal voucher but the 20% discount was quickly dropped, when I tried to book online I had problems because my Daughter was paying for the ticket as a Fathers Day present so I had to phone them, I told the agent I was disappointed to miss the 20% discount and she said 'no problem I can apply that', it cost £110 return but that includes a dog which you have to pay extra for

£104.25...

Newhaven- Dieppe next week with my pensioners discount 20% but has to be done on the phone. I use this route because it cuts a 2 hour drive from Calais to my house. 5 hours instead of 7. The size of camping cars is large and simple to work out my price was for a 6m x 2.2m. And it is near Rouen ... hello Carol ☺☺☺.xx

That`s the crossing i`m looking at as well for september.

Can you come on and say how they are getting on with upgrading the aire at Dieppe.

It didn`t look that far off last month when we called in.

P & O Ferries are offering 20% off Dover to Calais crossings booked between 4th July to Sept 30th. It excludes certain dates in July and August Also included is a £20 food voucher for outward trip. Looks a good deal. The promotion code is 20VH3.

Nice 1 Bill  just booked the september crossing, £37.44 for a 7.5m van

Includes a £20 meal voucher, too good to miss and i`ll put up with the trouble on the other side.

A few years ago we booked via a website (aferry or something like) and on returning they refused entry to board the ship saying the company had gone bust and then we had to pay another £250 to get back.
