Cheapest Ferry To Ireland

Ireland ferry crossings

I've always found very little difference in price between Stena & Irish Ferries, they tend to keep the prices really close because at the end of the day they have it all sewn up !
Myself and my partner will be travelling Fishguard to Rosslare at the end of July (Stena) with my van (up to 10m) and trailer (up to 4m) and as it says in previous posts the 02.15 crossing tends to be cheaper and the crossings will be cheaper again if you avoid the weekend crossings.
The advantage of Stena is that you get bonus points if you register for a free compass points loyalty card so you will get discount on your next crossing, so all that said I will be travelling out at 02.15 on a Saturday and returning at 09.00 on a Friday total cost £482.00 (but I got free Stena Plus & £72 discount on that price using my saved points) basically the van is £382.00 and the trailer is £100.00
hope that helps a bit

Hi there,

We cross at 2.40am tomorrow morning with Irish Ferries from Holyhead to Dublin and booking through the Caravan Club it's cost us £268.80 for 2 passengers with a 7.5 metre motorhome plus 2 dogs (free) We didn't think that was too bad and it's a lot cheaper than most companies.

Hope this helps?

Sue

One thing I should have mentioned in my earlier post is speaking to someone who works at the Pembroke dock terminal they told me that turning up 'in the middle of the night' & paying at the booking office is the favoured practice of the 'non-commercial' regulars. I've heard rumours of up to 50% but never actually met anyone who's tried it.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies and help everyone. Complete change of plan since!!! We now leave for the Orneys on August 12th
