I have been told that a set of 4 parking sensors can be used to warn of an impending attack. One at both cab doors, one at the Hab door and one at a locker. Connected to a loud alarm they could work. They would need a remote fob to turn them on and off.

That's a neat idea, I wonder what kind of standing current a set of four takes because a flat battery could be an issue without solar or in the winter.

It should not really use any power as it just needs a power supply until it is activated (maybe a few milliamps parasitic drain). A bench test might be worth while before fitting.
