Has anyone got any good/bad reviews on the Chausson Suite Garage Motorhome we have been looking at a 2011 model but there doesn't seem to be much information on the web.
Thank you

Although I am a Chausson fan, the Flash models I saw at the shows around that time the door handles used to fall off (the square chrome ones) regularly. Put me off buying one.

I believe that that model range has an electric drop-down bed. When at a show, I saw a smaller Chausson motorhome with an electric drop-down bed and decided that that solution was not for me: what happens if the system fails with the bed in either position? I don't know how many failures have occurred, but Sod's law says that it will happen at the worst possible time. At 2300 hours, you don't want to be messing around with tools and multi-meters! Is there any mechanical backup system? I once went down to a yacht that I part-owned, only to discover that the electric water pump had failed. Not a major problem when in port, but more of an issue if it arises on a long passage. Fortunately, the yacht was old enough that it had originally been fitted with hand pumps for the wash basins and a foot pump for the galley; the latter was still fitted and pressurised the entire system until I was able to replace the electric pump.

Failing electrics reminds me of a discussion that I had with a French estate agent. We were viewing a renovated property, which had been equipped throughout with electrically operated roller shutters, with no mechanical backup. I asked what would happen in the event of a power cut. The estate agent replied that they didn't happen often or for long, and asked the property owner what had happened as a result of storm Xynthia. She replied that they had been without power for a couple of days, but it had gone down while the shutters were open. "And what," I asked, if they had been closed when the power went off? It would be very dark inside." "Turn on the lights," he replied. We looked at him, until the cent eventually dropped...

I own a chausson suit relax 2013, although I had many teething problems I love it.

First question is how long is it ?

Second who are you buying from ?

There is a chausson FB page.

Yes the bed can be a problem but it does have a wind down handle for emergencies and within the buttons to get the bed up and down are secret buttons with reset code. I have this ...
I personally have never had a problem with the bed ...
Make sure you have the handle it costs 45 to replace.

Please ask more questions ...

Just looked at it on Internet, so the bad is

It is back end heavy and sinks and sticks on grass badly ...

It grounds on the back end as its to long, ferry travel is impossible, we use the tunnel. I have had a bump bar fitted and I am looking at air suspension or new bigger stronger leaf springs. We don't have many trips out where it doesn't ground and I have half the garage space that the garage model has.

You have the central island kitchen I love it although I do keep the extra work space up all the time. I have given myself more space with a good buy from ikea.

The high oven takes a bit of getting used to not sure if you have that.

I have highlighted the bad but as I say I still like it. You get a very good quality van for the money.

We have a chausson Welcome 35 on transit chassis no problem at all since purchased in 2010
Quality fittings as opposed to our previous British built van.
