Changing headlight on Hymer

It's 12.30 am and in Wales . Have just noticed the passenger headlight is not working. So had a quick look to see if I could change it quickly at the side of the road . Haha having a laugh. Does anybody know if there is a easy way to do this. From what I can see I have to have the arms of a 4 year old and they must be double jointed. I canno t for the life of me to see a way to do this. Anybody else tried ? It's the hymer with the round lights as in profile pic. Thanks.

stick a headlamp on light and wait for morning so park up open bottle of wine/beer and try again in daylight

Fitted rhd ones on ours a few years back but they were the square type and no real hassle ,soz no help tezza
Would've thought the wife's wee hands are better to do it?��

I've got the model with the twin round headlights and can confirm it's a pig of a job to change a bulb,there is no easy way.I had to lie under the wheel arch and work by feel,access is not possible from the engine bay.There is a cover to remove at the back of the headlight and then a clip which when pressed releases the bulb assembly.Sounds easy but it took me about an hour of faffing about,good luck!

ps can't see a profile pic but I assume it's the one with twin round headlights.

Nightmare!

This happened to me in Spain last year. A very kind German came to my aid and the two of us spent a couple of hours faffing around with it. It is not possible to change it from within the engine bay, you have to remove the whole headlamp assembly. Once removed the bulb is easy to change but it did take a good while to do. I don't get it. I changed my dip bulbs to 100w burners when I first discovered the Hella glow worms that pass for lights on Hugo. I just reached in, flipped the spring clip, removed the bulb and swapped it over. I don't recall any contortions but there again, I don't recall much at all these days! The link shows the position of the clip.

Try Halfords!.

The instructions for changing the headlight bulb on my Renault Megane start with "Jack the vehicle, and remove the wheel"!

The web said it was possible to do it by turning the wheel to full lock, removing an inspection panel , lying on your back, and reaching in.
Tried and failed.

Renault dealer wanted £150 plus to change the bulb.

Took it to Halfords, £7 pound fitting change plus cost of bulb. Well worth it

Well I tried no luck . Took it to halfords thinking buy a bulb and fitting then they will fit for a fiver . Took one look and said it has to be jacked and the inner part of wheel arch off . So no thank you . Now on way to quick fit as they said they can do it lol wait until they see it .

Makes it a bit of a joke that the carrying of spare bulbs is obligitory in many countries, but the actuao changing of some bulbs is so hard.
I reckon there should be some legislation which requires vehicle makers to allow a bulb swap with a minimum of tools and within a certain time.

I agree , what's wrong with the lens being held on with 3 screws . Easy to pull of to change the bulbs or even the lens itself .

The bulbs and fast change parts should be easy to do but until we complain on mass to makers they will keep doing this,what is required is a petition started and flood there email inbox.
Also how on earth do you put beam deflectors on those silly we round h/lamps.

just retired from the motor trade! welcome to my passed world
seriously you would think the bloody designers could come up with easier ways to access parts,
one of the worse is the Smart car, you are expected to remove 28 bolts and radio aerial, take the complete front off the car to access the rear of the headlights, what moron! came up with that idea?
if you have 6 year old hands and double jointed you can squeeze your hand down through a small vent below the windscreen but every thing is done by touch, let's not even start about the Renault range!
luckily my Adria is simple undo three bolts and rotate the whole light assembly, the two hella lamps easily adjusted or bulbs replaced,

treskoda the round hella lamps are simple to change the dip pattern, at the rear is 3 small screws, undo and twist the lamp and tighten up and you are good to go continental, you don't try and put beam setters on the round hella lamps,

An update. Pulled up at quick fit....a fitter cam out had a look and started shaking his head. " have to take the front bumper off and the inside of the wheel arches tut tut..it will be an hour or two and we charge £50 an hour labour" so after I picked myself of the floor another fitter walked by and the first said " have a look at this , it's impossible " fitter number 2 put his hand in somewhere and after 60 seconds pulled out the old bulb. Told fitter one to get a new one. 10 minutes later bonnet closed all lights working. The bill including the new bulb was £10 .49 .
And I still don't know how he done it. So fair do's to quik fit. They have gone up in my estimation. no appointment needed. This was done at York road Swansea .

I lay under the van reached up in front of inner mud flap, pushed the two air hoses to one side and managed to reach the bulbs. changed it with MOT tester watching me.
You can change it from under the bonnet if you have arms like Olive Oil.

I believe that legislation came in a couple of years back, my 15 plate relay takes around 90s to remove the headlight cluster using a torx driver and removing two screws, unclip the cable and slide the unit out.

I asked this question the other day on here and have just found this thread. Im not looking forward to attempting to change the headlight bulbs on my 534.
Maybe this is one instance where child labour could be made legal.
