Ceramic Heater

Ceramic heaters are the best type to buy for hookups. Make sure they can range from 700watts odd for low amp hookups. They heat up quick and are safe due to no super hot element.

I have 700==1500 watt ceramic fan heater ,brilliant ,fast heat up , thermostat ,very warm .

Yes

We have a low power Standard fan heater.. which is vg

Ceramic must be better
smaller / lighter / safer

Thermostat a must
Different power settings good

As has been posted only good on EHU but heat the vehicle up very quickly and can be moved to where they are best used.

With both types you can also use the fan only in summer to help ( a bit) with cooling

You need a heater that will run on a low wattage hook up if need be,

so something that can be turned down to a 1000 watts or less

I have 500 w heater and a 500/1000/2000 industrial unit which i got for 25 bucks at a sale.

Well after looking at several I decide to buy this one as lower wattage than the other and from Argos so no problems returning if a fault develops also cheaper. used it for a few days and does what I need it to

You made a good choice ,very similar to mine now over ten years old .great for low amps hook up ,thanks for letting us know your' choice .

What size and type of MH are you guys heating with these ceramic heaters??

Me, if on EHU, take along an oil filled rad, that I can put my feet on!

I have a 2kW Fan Heater identical to the one Davep1000 linked to - great for getting some fast heat into the van (got mine from The Original Factory Shop - £12)
I also have a 500W Oil-Rad from Argos - as you say, handy as a foot stool

Both only for use when hooked up :ninja:

PS - the Fan Heater is also handy just as a fan blower in the summer to get some air circulation (that is usuable on the battery via inverter)

I just use the Truma combi on electric setting when on ehu. Why bother carrying another heat source when you already have one that also heats the water if required.

A lot of vans are like mine - heating only works on gas, even though EHU can be used for hot water.

Seems a bit daft to me - when do I not need hot water? When I'm on a campsite with EHU and I can use their showers instead, but I still need heating in the van.

It should be the other way round.
