Castrol GTX Ultraclean 10W40 A3/B4

Old toyotas from seventies est 1000 and 1200 had the filter upside down, they had a valve in them to keep full when stopped, after market ones did not and the bearings went down hill fast if you fitted them, some nonsense from my head full of cr-p,why can we not wipe our hard drives of junk. 😂 😂
OH yes jensen interseptors had them upside down on a sep unit mounted on inner wing, more useless cr-p.

My filter is like that. You basically part-fill so it is filled as much as possible (these horizontal fillers make it messy when changing though dont they!

PS. My oil arrived today. Very fast delivery there (y)

I`m a very big fan of Mann filters and use them ( oil, air, fuel and pollen ) in both my vehicles.

The Mann oil filter for the motorhome is the screw on canister type with the M22 fitting and not the 3/4 16 UNF fitting that all the autodata / fleet factor sites show it is when you put the registration in.

It holds about a teaspoon full of oil before it starts to dribble out when fitting and get every bloody where so i don`t bother.

The oil light goes out in less than a second after the service start up and the motorhome has now done over 88,000 miles, it sounds / runs better that new.

My oil arrived at my door in just under 21 hours from ordering and paying on Ebay, shame other companies / couriers can`t or won`t do the same.

Your filter sounds like mine - also a MANN. I was surprised just how much oil I could pre-fill it and then put on its side without coming out (actually filled it initially and let it settle in).
Pretty sure MANN are used by VAG with OEM branded as well. For the T4, used to get the fuel filter from Halfords for around £3 (used to replace it quite frequently when using veg oil as it was so clean it used to clean the fuel tank of old diesel deposits). The T5 fuel filter was around £60! Insane price for those!

Yes i let mine sit and soak up the oil, some i agree cannot do this as either on side or upside down.
